TBT: DC & NYC

This past summer, I had the wonderful opportunity to join my best friend Laura and her family on their vacation to Washington D.C. and New York City. It was a really great trip, and we were able to do so many amazing things! I am so grateful that the Inclan's actually wanted me to accompany them on their family vacay!! hehe

So here is a recap of our amazing trip to two of my most favorite cities!! We drove all the way from Florida to D.C., and stopping in Durham, NC to sleep. Our first stop was somewhere outside of Atlanta for lunch- a beautiful vineyard, but I just can't remember the name!

Our long car ride, no makeup look

Our first destination was George Washington's house, Mount Vernon. This was my second trip to Mount Vernon, and it just keeps getting better. The house and land was beautiful as always, and the museum was bigger with a lot more to do and learn!

Our first day out in D.C. was jam packed with things to do! We explored all over the city, walking everywhere, and hitting almost all of the monuments. I love going to the monuments, I am reminded every time just how special our beautiful country is.

The rest of our time in D.C. was filled exploring and being tourists! While waiting for our reservations at a restaurant, Laura and I took a trip to Georgetown Cupcakes and got to try some of their delicious inventions!

Snapchatting everywhere we go, of course!

Georgetown Cupcakes! As seen on TV!

In between our trip from D.C. to NYC we stopped and stayed in Saratoga to see the horse racing courses, and the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame.
At the museum in our racing gear!

When we finally made it to New York City we were so excited!! The energy of the city is thrilling, I just love it! I don't think I could live in New York (the South has my heart), but I absolutely love to visit. Shopping, eating, exploring, and going to broadway shows is one of my most favorite things to do. But why wouldn't it be? It's fabulous! While in New York we were able to do so many incredible things. Take a trip to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, eat fantastic food, row boat down Central Park, and see some amazing Broadway shows, and a great food tour!! (probably a lot more, too, that I am forgetting to mention!)

I promise, I was happy hehe

Beauty Wish List

I have an addiction to Sephora and buying new makeup. It is one thing that I really like to splurge on, I feel like it is important to have nice makeup, so I allow myself to spend more on it.

Here are some beauty products that I have not tried before, but I would really like to. I only buy 1-3 things at a time, but I love watching my collection grow. If you want to know in detail why I would like the following products, read the paragraph at the bottom. If you just want to see what my wish list is, scroll down to the picture and links! Beauty Wish List

I have heard great things about the TOUCHE ÉCLAT - Radiant Touch, its an under eye concealer that is supposed to make your skin illuminate and erase signs of fatigue. The Nars stick serves multiple purposes, you can apply it to your cheeks, lips, eyes and body. I really like Nars blushes, they are so beautiful. This blush is the "super orgasm". I have the regular "orgasm" right now, but I want more shimmer, which is why I would like the super. I am obsessed with all things YSL, especially the lip products. I was in Sephora the other day and came across this new lip gloss. It is to act as a top coat for lipstick, but it also beautiful and shiny on its own. I know I would use it all the time. I am constantly looking for a good face cleanser that will really clean my face, and take off all my makeup. I have read reviews on the Fresh Soy Face Cleaners, and great things are said! I am finally thinking about joining the Naked Palette bandwagon. I do not wear a lot of eye makeup, so I have never thought I needed all those shades. Plus, everyone has the Naked Palettes, so I wanted to be different. I have used my friends, and I see how versatile and amazing the palette is. Benefit's puff off is at the top of my list. After using their pore minimizer, I wanted to see what other products they had. I have naturally puffy and dark circles around my eyes, so I tested the Puff Off at Sephora, and I was really pleased with the results. I have tried my friends Stilla Shimmer eyeshadow, and it is really just gorgeous. It's like wearing little gold flakes on your eyes. I usually don't splurge on mascara because I run out so fast, but I have heard that this YSL mascara is worth it. I am willing to give it a try if it will make my lashes more voluminous. Ever since I can remember I have always had to have something on my lips. In middle school, I used to carry around tubes of Victoria's Secret lipgloss in my pencil case- I am obsessed with Chapstick, lipgloss, and lipstick. I have always wanted to try the Fresh Sugar chapstick, because some of my friends have used it for years and love it. I always like to start my makeup with a primer, it makes my skin feel fresh, and I think it really does help the makeup look better, longer. The Smashbox Photo Finish is at the top of my list of primers to try. Last, but not least, Smashbox BB Cream. I like wearing a little bit of foundation, but nothing heavy. BB Cream's are just perfect, and Smashbox makes great products!

I can get really passionate about my beauty products! If you have a product you can't live without, please comment below. I am always looking to try new things. Hope you enjoyed!

Belle of the Ball

When we got to the Yacht Club, we had no time to spare. We went right upstairs, changed out of our cocktail dresses, and into our beautiful, white dresses! It was time for formal pictures. My mother and Aunt Leigh helped Lauren and and me change quickly. Pictures didn't take very long, so after that, back into our cocktail dresses!

After pictures, we mingled with family and friends, ate a quick dinner and then it was showtime!! Into the white dresses we go again, where we would stay in for the rest of the night.

We were all lined up in order by height, I was #8 in the lineup. My escort, Conner, decided moments before we went on, that he had to use the restroom. I was skeptical, but he promised he would be fast. Moments before the curtains would open, he was still not back. I was in a stage of panic, they were about to tell the MC to stop for a minute, but thankfully Conner came back just in time.

The curtains opened, and my dad and I stepped out. The bright light was on me, and I couldn't help but smile. I had so many thoughts going through my mind. Smile, walk slow, remember when to pause, and when to curtsey. I must admit, I did mess up a little, but I don't think anyone noticed- I hope no one noticed!

The rest of the ball went by so fast! It was a wonderful time with my dearest friends and family. I wish I could do it over and over!
